MEMBERSHIP

If you are interested in joining our church or just have questions, we are happy to help!

At the end of every Worship Service there is a time of invitation where you may come and join Austin Chapel MBC. You may also schedule a time to visit with our pastor.

Why is it important to join a church?

After we have become a Christian, the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:13, 27 that we are to be joined together in the body of Christ. We should become a part of a local body of believers (church).

God's plan for every one of his children is to be more than a visitor in a church. He wants us to seek membership and become a vital part of the church body so that we can experience the encouragement and fellowship that comes with being with other Christians. As a member of Austin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, we make a commitment to our church; to give, to be faithful in our attendance, and to use our talents to help others. In response, the church is committed to you; to watch over and nourish you, to encourage you, and to hold you accountable.

We accept membership in one of three ways:

By Baptism

If you have trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior and you desire to live according to His teachings, as they are taught by this church, you may join by baptism.

By Letter

If you have been scripturally baptized in another church of like faith and order, you may join by letter from your former church.

By Statement

If it is impossible to get a letter from your former church, you may join by statement of having been baptized by a Baptist church of similar faith and practice.

We hope you seriously consider joining us in membership at Austin Chapel MBC. However, if you do not, remember that God still desires for you to be a member at a bible believing church.
